JANINE MAYFIELD has become one of the Western Slope’s most respected and well-loved personalities during her 2+ years with 94KIX, KUBC, and The Blast.

Whether your news is a public service announcement, burglary, or a house fire, Janine will not hesitate to cover your story. She brought with her, previous radio news experience and is  the go-to-girl for all three stations.

Janine hails from Akron, Ohio. She’s 29 and graduated from the Ohio Center of Broadcasting in Valley View, Ohio in 2007. She is a 2003 graduate from Walsh University, with a BA in Communications and a minor in English/Writing.

Before packing her life and her cat, Kalli, in her car and heading “out west,” she was a part-time News Editor/Reporter for WAKR in Akron. However, Janine finds herself to be “well-rounded” as she has worked several jobs, including a lifeguard, summer camp counselor, substitute teacher, parts delivery driver for a car dealership, and an assistant day care teacher.

In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog Brutus, reading mystery novels, shooting hoops, playing board games, a night out on the town, cheering on the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes, scrapbooking, laughing, meeting new people, and taking pictures.

Janine has an odd obsession with the Titanic, shamrocks, quotes of the day, highlighting things, and fixing other people’s spelling errors.
