While safety is always one of their top concerns, the Telluride Ski Resort has been as of lately, cracking down even more so on reckless skiers. The Telluride Watch writes that ski patrol has been more persistent on the slopes, especially in the high traffic zones, and that skiers need to remember space and speed. Penalties are enforced for those found at fault for causing a collision while skiing, the steepest being a 5-year ban from Telluride’s slopes. The Ski Safety Act says that each skier has the duty to maintain control of his speed and course at all times when skiing and maintain a proper lookout as to be able to avoid other skiers and objects.
