Here’s the latest on the I-70 cleanup by Glenwood Canyon. Crews are working through the slow, technical process of drilling the rock and prepping the area for blasting operations. This should end sometime after 5pm. After this time, CDOT will assess the clean-up work required, and the follow-up process and the estimated schedule for getting traffic flowing again.

26 kids who were busted at a teen bash last month went before a municipal judge Wednesday morning. According to NBC 11 News one of the harshest sentence went to the host of the party who just happens to be the son of District Attorney Pete Hautzinger. He pleaded guilty to charges of disorderly. His sentence will carry a fine totaling $500 and 14 hours of useful public service plus court fees. The other kids also pleaded guilty and were given first offender sentences which carry a $150 fine, 24 hours of useful community service and court fees.

The Bureau of Land Management Uncompahgre Field Office is seeking public comment on 24 special recreation permit applications. According to the Delta County Independent, they are looking for input on issues like resource concerns, compliance history, health and safety and diversity of services. CDOT workers are still working on clearing out I-70 by Glenwood Canyon. In the meantime, if that wasn’t enough Hwy 139 was closed for a while after a 2 vehicle crash ignited a tanker hauling thousands of gallons of propane. NBC 11 News reports that the crash occurred just after 9pm last night near Douglas Pass. The road has since reopened for limited travel. Lower Valley Fire officials say there were no injuries…..
