Tomorrow Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, will continue his statewide veterans listening tour in Grand Junction, where he will tour a veteran’s housing unit at Arbor Vista, an affordable, veteran-accessible complex managed by the Grand Junction Housing Authority and part of the HUD Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program.
Following the tour, Bennet will talk with veterans, advocates and local housing counselors to discuss the housing needs of veterans on the Western Slope and the housing authority’s work on their behalf.
The stop is part of an ongoing tour that has taken Bennet to rural and urban communities across the state to hear directly from Colorado veterans on major issues, including access to VA healthcare, services and benefits and the VA’s backlogs. Throughout the listening tour, which was launched in Pueblo earlier this month, Bennet will gather input and ideas informed by Colorado veterans, not politicians in Washington, on how we can work to fulfill our promise to America’s military men and women.
