A natural gas drilling company is getting ready to drill new wells near the towns of Silt and New Castle. NBC 11 News has learned that Denver-based Antero Resources plans to drill 284 wells on 6500 acres, most of which is public land.  The Bureau of Land Management says it approved the project’s environmental study on Friday.  The public will be able to review the plan this week on the BLM’s web site…

Due to a decline in revenues, the Gunnison Valley Rural Transportation Authority will charge $2 per ride this winter for the bus that runs between Gunnison and Crested Butte. The Crested Butte News reports that this winter RTA will reduce its round-trips to 6 per day from the usual 10 last winter.  The RTA had been discussing charging fees for sometime and made the final decision to charge $2 a passenger during the organization’s July 9th meeting.
