The woman who stabbed her ex-boyfriend’s girlfriend has pleaded guilty. NBC 11 News reports that Crystal Reinbold has accepted a plea deal in connection with the stabbing of Katy Slawson back in March when the two had a fight at Dixon Park in Orchard Mesa.  She had eluded authorities for several days before finally turning herself in to Montrose Police.  Slawson did survive the stabbing and Reinbold will be sentenced in September….

A Grand Junction man has been formally charged for allegedly trying to burn down his apartment while his wife was inside. KREX says that  Ryan Hunt appeared in front of a judge earlier today where he received several charges, including attempted arson and assault. Hunt was arrested by the Grand Junction police when he tried to light up his home with his wife still inside.  The two apparently had been arguing about their pending divorce.  Hunt will be back in court on July 27th

For several  months Cedaredge trustees have been discussing the pros and cons of placing two ballot initiatives on the Nov 2010 election ballot. Mountain Valley News reports that during their last regular meeting the board had decided not to place an initiative  asking the voters for an increase in the mil levy to support animal control and the animal shelter in Cedaredge.  The town has  been discussing two viable options for the future of the shelter one of which is splitting the cost 60/40 with the town paying 60% of the control officer’s wages.
