One person is dead after a single-car accident near Ridgway just before 6:00pm yesterday. A pickup truck driven by 16-year-old Omar Martinez-Torres of Montrose lost control and hit several delineator posts (near milemarker 114.5)  before rolling multiple times while headed westbound on Highway 550. Thirty-six-year-old Mae Torrez-Martinez, of New Mexico, was pronounced dead on scene. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The accident closed the highway for just over 3 hours.
