Jury selection for a decades old murder case is expected to start Tuesday morning. NBC 11 News reports that Jerrry Nemnich is accused of murdering a Grand Junction woman and her daughter in 1975.  Authorities say they were able to finalize the case thanks to DNA.  A CBI investigator said that in the past there was only a minute chance that a DNA sample taken from the scene does not belong to Nemnich.  The victims were found stabbed to death in the Chateau Apartments off North 21 St….

Harley Brooke-Hitching and Kathleen Erie, the candidates vying for the San Miguel County Clerk seat, took part in their  first public forum of the election season. According to the Daily Planet both candidates emphasized many of the same qualities; customer service and attention to detail to name a couple.  The County Clerk in San Miguel County is responsible for maintaining voter records, registering motor vehicles and more.   Both candidates also agreed that the digitization of county records is an important task to keep up and both felt the level of customer service by Nerlin’s office should continue….

A Grand Junction man is looking to be the next president of the United States…for real. 53 yr old John Davis says his frustration with what’s happening to our government is forcing him to put his name in the running.  According to KREX many of his friends are completely behind him and support him 100 per cent.  His biggest challenge is trying to get people to take him seriously.  Reducing the size of the federal government and pushing for term limits on all public offices are on his presidential agenda.
