Just a day after being sentenced to life in prison, KJCT has learned that Jerry Nemnich will appeal his conviction. This word came from his attorney Dan King.  Nemnich is in the process of being transferred to prison after being found guilty two weeks ago of murdering Linda Benson and her daughter Kelley in 1975.  Nemnich, even after his conviction, maintained his innocence.  He and his lawyers have 45 days to formally make their appeal….

Mesa County is one step closer to hiring a new county administrator and one step closer to spending $15,000 more to do so. NBC 11 News reports that former county commissioner John Crouch says the county should hire someone new but they shouldn’t be paid more.  County Commissioners have conditionally offered former Osceola County administrator Michael Freiling the job for the extra $15 thousand, plus benefits.  They say one of the main reasons he is being offered more is because he has more  experience.  The one catch, Freiling had been  fired from his last job and commissioners say they are looking into the reasons.
