Telluride Domain Names, a locally owned website-marketing company, has launched the new Telluride.com to provide visitors with a comprehensive guide to all that the town has to offer. According The Watch, TDN partnered with Blue Tent Marketing, a Carbondale-based marketing group that offers an extensive backround in marketing destination resorts.  Much of what’s available on telluride.com comes from input from residents themselves.  They were asked to write down what they enjoy about their hometown and share some stories, photos and videos.

A semi driver had to be cut out his truck after rolling it on I–70 early Monday morning. The accident blocked both westbound lanes of the Interstate for more than three hours. NBC 11 News reports that the accident took place just before 1:30am this morning at mile marker 2 on I-70.  State Police say that 32 yr old Andrew Thomson was driving westbound on I-70 in a semi truck with double pup trailers near Rabbit Valley.  He was going around a right hand curve when he lost control of his truck and drove 226 feet in the dirt median then over corrected and rolled the semi onto its side.  It then slid more than 90 feet before stopping.  Thomson was taken to the hospital with non–life threatening injuries, no word on his condition yet.

The Olathe Town Board of Trustees meet at 6 p.m. Monday in Olathe Town Hall, 419 Horton Ave. in Olathe for a work session to review its 2011 budget, and at 7 p.m. for the board’s regular meeting. Montrose County will close 5875 Road between Spring Creek Road and Maple Grove Road  starting Mon. Dec. 20th, 2010 until approximately Jan 14th, 2011for bridge repair.  Motorists are asked to use alternate routes.  For more detailed information contact Montrose Road and Bridge at 249-5424…..

DMEA is getting set to launch a new Community Array Program. NBC 11 News explains that Barriers DMEA is on the verge of breaking through with another alternative energy concept…the sun.  Western Slope has natural gas, coal, and oil shale but according to DMEA officials they haven’t even begun to tap into solar resources which are plentiful here.  Officials are also hoping to have the array program finished and launched b February….

Homeless men and women who have lost their lives were remembered yesterday in a somber ceremony at Hawthorn Park. NBC 11 News reports that while there has been a steady increase in homeless population in Grand Junction , fewer people have lost their lives.  That’s largely due to increased community support particularly from 17 local churches who have stepped in to take in the overflow of transients.
