Nathan Yager’s court hearing has been continued until Feb. 4th. A court hearing for Nathan Yager, 39, of Paonia, originally set for Jan. 19, has been continued until Feb. 4 at 4 p.m., according to the clerk’s office of the Delta County Combined Courts.  The Watch explains that Yager is accused of killing his estranged wife, Melinda, on Jan 7th.  The two did have a history of domestic violence calls and were going through a bitter divorce and custody battle over their 15 month old daughter.  Melinda’s body was found by a friend near railroad tracks close to her home in Paonia.  Nathan Yager turned himself in that same day to the Montrose Police.  He currently faces charges of domestic violence and first-degree murder.

American Furniture closing in Grand Junction. Another furniture store  in the Western Slope is closing its doors.  After 60-years of serving Western Colorado, American Furniture is closing.  KJCT says the store was a “full-line” furniture store offering a variety of fine furnishings from many different manufacturers.  American Furniture is a locally owned company that once started on three different corners of Main St. in Grand Junction and then moved to its current location on North Ave.
