A bill regarding felony DNA recently passed the Senate. NewsChannel 5 reports that Colorado Senator Steve King backs a clarification surrounding a bill branched off of Katie’s Law, which states that all people arrested in the state for a felony must submit a DNA sample to be matched against a statewide database. With the new legislation, people that have either pled guilty to less than a felony or have been found innocent will have their DNA removed from the data-base. Senator King says the bill will help keep the database strictly to felons.
