As of Tuesday, March 1st, all Homeowner’s Associations with the state of Colorado must have registered with the Colorado Division of Real Estate. The goal is to have documentation of all HOAs, in order to keep them informed of changing laws, and to provide information on the rights of homeowners.  NBC 11 News has been informed by Calvin Hofer the president of the HOAat Spanish Trails in Grand Junction that as president he tries to keep residents informed of rules in the neighborhood and keeps an eye on the budget even though he doesn’t personally handle any money.  Hofer also says the residents should stay on top of conditions and restrictions before they buy a home.
