The Board of County Commissioners in Delta has decided to conduct a public process in its deliberations over the Tri-State power line safety issue.  According to the Delta County Independent, on March 11th the board met with Tri-State as well as DMEA and the city of Delta.  An attorney representing Tri-State Generation, and engineer with DMEA, and Fay Matthews with the City of Delta have asked the commissioners to let the power lines be energized and put into service now.  By doing that commissioners pointed out that the county would still be liable for safety issues by allowing the project to proceed.
