OLATHE – Last night the Olathe Board of Trustees voted 5-1 for Dolores Killen to fill the lone vacancy on the board. The public was invited to the interview process of the four candidates during the work session meeting. There were originally five candidates: Richard Davis, Paul Dunford, Dolores Killen, John McCarty, and Linda Steele, however Steele dropped out seeing how many other good candidates were in the running. She encouraged those who don’t get chosen to run during the next Board of Trustee election.

Killen, a resident of Olathe since 1967, will hold the position until April 2012. The position was vacant after Trustee Doyle James put in his resignation February 26, 2011.
