NATIONWIDE – As of yesterday the price to send larger envelopes, parcels, international mail, ads, and postcards increased through the United States Postal Service. Despite cutting over 100,000 jobs over the past few years, the Postal Service is still hurting. Last year it took a record loss of $8.5 billion dollars. The Postal Service is allowed to raise rates as long as the increase doesn’t exceed the inflation rate of 1.7%. The price of stamps will remain at 44 cents.
