GRAND JUNCTION  -  Mesa County is gearing up for some possible flooding. The Colorado River is already running fast and the water level is already high. The river will possibly reach record levels in the next few weeks. The river is as high as nine feet right now and the record was set in 1984 when the river peaked at fourteen feet. Mesa County Emergency Manager Andy Martsolf told KJCT that they are preparing for possible flooding.   The snowpack that feeds the Colorado River is nearly two hundred fifty percent of average and the peak water levels are expected in late June.
