Here are the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Road Closures for the week of 7/11

Projects are listed in highway order then by direction and milepost. Work is weather dependent.
I 70 Eastbound Between East Vail and the Vail Pass Summit (Milemarker 180-190) (through
September 2011)
7:00am-7:00pm MO-TH and FR until 12:00noon Work zones are approximately 2 miles in length in each direction.
Single lane closures for paving and concrete barrier replacement in median. Crews will also repair bridge joints. 20
minute delays expected. The Vail Pass bike path will be put on a detour route beginning 7/11/11 and continue
through 9/30/11.
I 70 Eastbound/Westbound through the Eisenhower Tunnel and at the Loveland Pass Exit
(Milemarker 214-218) (through August 2011)
6:00pm-6:00am SU-SA Single lane closures for routine maintenance including sweeping. Delays possible.
8:00pm-6:00am WE Left lane closed westbound from exit 218 to 216 for washout repairs in the median. Delays
possible.
I 70 Eastbound/Westbound Between Georgetown and the Eisenhower Tunnel (Milemarker
228-215) (through July 2011)
6:00am-8:00pm MO-TH Mobile striping operations in both directions. Delays possible.
I 70 Westbound Between Bakerville and Silver Plume (Milemarker 223.5-224.5) (through July
2011)
8:00pm-6:00am TU Left lane closed for guardrail repairs. Delays possible.
I 70 Westbound Between Empire and Georgetown (Milemarker 226-239) (through July 2011)
8:00pm-6:00am SU Left lane closed in both directions for guardrail repair and washout repairs in the median at
milepost 324. Delays possible.
I 70 Westbound/Eastbound Between US 40 and Beaver Brook Exit (Milemarker 244-248)
(through September 2011)
7:00pm-7:00am SU-TH, 7:00am-7:00pm MO-TH and FR until 4:00pm Various lane closures between mileposts
242-246. Ramps will be closed as needed at exit 244 in either direction for bridge joint replacement. Possible ramp
closures at exit 244 as needed. Delays possible.
US 160 Eastbound/Westbound Between CO 41 and US 491 (Milemarker 11.5-18) (through
September 2011)
6:30am-7:00pm MO-FR There will be one lane alternating traffic for resurfacing and widening. 15 minute delays. No
wide loads during work hours M-F. A 12 ft. width restriction in effect at all other times. Rough surface exits
until paving begins on August. Extreme caution advised for motorcycles.
US 160 Eastbound/Westbound East of Cortez (Milemarker 41-62) (through July 2011)
7:00am-4:30pm MO and TU There will be one lane alternating traffic for asphalt patching. Delays possible.

US 160 Eastbound/Westbound Between Durango and Bayfield at CR 222/223 (Milemarker
92.9-94.8) (through August 2011)
9:00am-4:00pm MO-FR Single lane closures for earthwork, gravels installation, and ditch work. Speed limit reduced
through the work zone. Delays of up to 10 minutes possible.
US 160 Eastbound/Westbound East of Pagosa Springs (Milemarker 150-151) (through
November 2011)
7:00am-7:00pm MO-FR There will be one lane alternating traffic for slope stabilization and road repairs due to
landslide damage. Minimal delays.
US 160 Eastbound Wolf Creek Pass West Side (Milemarker 160-161) (through October 2011)
7:00am-7:00pm MO-FR There will be one lane alternating traffic for paving operations and concrete barrier work.
Oversize width restriction for westbound vehicles as well as short single lane closures eastbound in the climbing lane
for permanent sign installation and barrier wall construction. Up to 15 minute delays possible.
US 24 Eastbound/Westbound 5 Miles North of Leadville (Milemarker 170) (through November
2011)
6:00am-6:00pm MO-SA Possible single lane closures to allow equipment to enter and exit the roadway for bridge
reconstruction. Less than 10 minute delays possible.
US 24 Eastbound/Westbound North of Buena Vista (Milemarker 202.3-209) (through August
2011)
7:00am-7:00pm SU-TH There will be one lane alternating traffic for resurfacing. 15 to 20 minute delays.
US 285 Northbound/Southbound From the New Mexico State Line to Antonito (Milemarker
1-5) (through July 2011)
6:30am-5:00pm WE and TH There will be one lane alternating traffic for a chip seal project. Delays possible.
Motorists urged to drive slowly due to loose chips on the roadway.
US 285 Northbound/Southbound at 10th Street in Alamosa (Milemarker 34) (through August
2011)
7:00am-5:00pm MO-FR Possible lane closures for signal installation.

7:00am-7:00pm MO-FR There will be one lane alternating traffic with a pilot car for a chip seal project. 10-15 minute
delays possible. Speed limit reduced due the loose chips on roadway.
US 40 Eastbound/Westbound at Trafalger Dr/Hilltop Pkwy in Steamboat Springs (Milemarker
133) (through July 2011)
8:00am-6:00pm TU and WE Single lane closures approaching and through the intersection for paving operations.
Possible full closures of Trafalger Dr. Delays possible. Alternate routes advised.
US 40 Eastbound/Westbound Over Muddy Pass (Milemarker 165-179) (through September
2011)
6:00am-8:00pm MO-FR There will be one lane alternating traffic for resurfacing, guardrail adjustments and striping.
15 minute delays.
US 491 Northbound/Southbound North of Cortez (Milemarker 29) (through July 2011)
8:00am-4:30pm MO-FR There will be one lane alternating traffic for paving operations and retaining wall construction.
Up to 15 minute delays possible.
US 50 Eastbound/Westbound 12 Miles East of Montrose at Cerro Summit (Milemarker
104.3-108) (through September 2011)
6:00am-8:00pm MO-TH and FR until 4:00pm One lane open in each direction as the eastbound lane are excavated.
Possible one-lane alternating traffic at times during work hours.
US 550 Eastbound/Westbound At Bear Creek Bridge South of Ouray (Milemarker 90.6)
(through November 2011)
24 Hours There will be one lane alternating traffic controlled by traffic signals 24/7 for bridge reconstruction. Traffic
alternated approximately every 2 minutes. Flaggers will supplement the signal operations from 7am-7pm MO-FR

October 2011)
24 Hours US 6 will be closed from Kayak Crossing East to the I-70 interchange for approximately 3 weeks beginning
7/5/11. Xcel Energy is replacing a natural gas pipeline. Westbound traffic can exit I-70 at 169 and travel west
on US 6. Eastbound can get on US 6 at exit 169, exit at 171, and then travel east on US 6 to Minturn.US
6 frm Eagle Road to Kayak Crossing will be open for business access only. More info can be found at

CO 119 Northbound in Blackhawk (Milemarker 6-7) (through November 2012)
3:00am-2:00pm MO-FR 20 minute traffic stop around 7am possible just south of Black Hawk for blasting operations.
Standard traffic holds up to 10 minutes are expected for truck hauling. Work also includes guardrail installation
and safety improvements. 20 minute delays possible in a.m. Up to 10 minute delays at all other times during
