Lawmakers Looking to Make More Cuts

DENVER  -  Colorado lawmakers will likely have to cut another $400 million to $500 million next year as the state continues trying to dig out of the economic downturn.  According to the Daily Press, cuts need to be made even though the state’s general fund revenue is up by less than one percent this year compared to last year’s figures.  However it’s still not able to keep up with increased demand for services such as health care, education and public safety.  This comes from a  report from the quarterly economic forecast from the governor’s office….
