The City was invited by the event organizers to host a stage of the race next year. Executive Director of the Montrose Association of Commerce and Tourism Jenni Sopsic says that the decision on what stage the city will host is up to the organizers.  The City Council will meet at the council chambers on south first tonight at seven.  The economic impact study conducted by IFM, a global sports research firm, found this year’s event attracted more than 1 million spectators and produced an economic impact on Colorado of $83.5 million.
