BOCC Approve Mill Levy By Way of Phone in Yesterday’s Meeting

MONTROSE  -  Yesterday Montrose County Commissioners were supposed to go to Nucla for their Wednesday meeting  to formally adopt the 2012 budget.  But due to the weather and icy road conditions they were unable to make it. So instead they conducted their meeting by way of telephone.  During the impromptu  meeting commissioners did manage to approve a net mill levy and a budget of $60.2 million in total appropriations and a last minute change to meet a new state mandate.  They also approved a $1.5 million reserve fund required under TABOR…
