DENVER - While Gov. Hickenlooper weighs the duties of state and local governments concerning the development of oil and gas resources, he is asking industry and government officials to come up with recommendations on ways to resolve the conflict. To do so, the governor has created a task force to see if both sides can reach some kind of agreement. Back in 2008, Colorado revamped its statewide drilling rules but oil and gas operations have been continuously moving closer to urban areas and are deciding whether to adopt regulations on issues such as noise and other effects of drilling.
