A student at Olathe Elementary school was airlifted to Denver last week to undergo treatment for Bacterial Meningitis. The diagnosis was confirmed last Thursday and parents of students were notified by a letter from the school district. Meningitis is a dangerous inflammation of the tissue protecting the brain and spinal cord and can be fatal if it is not treated quickly. Luckily the student was taken to a Hospital in Denver the day Doctors confirmed the diagnosis.
