A House bill being proposed at the state capital could revise Colorado Mesa University’s status from “moderately selective” to “selective” when choosing its students.  What that means is students must have a higher index score.  Currently the acceptable score at Colorado Mesa is 85 but that will be bumped up to 92 if the bill passes.  Admission index scores are based on students’ high school grade point average or class rank and their ACT or SAT scores.
