This year is shaping up to be one of the warmest and driest on record. Drought conditions have expanded and now the entire south west of the nation, from central Texas west to California and as far north as Wyoming, is under some sort of drought conditions. The worst conditions have hit Texas and New Mexico but some portions of Colorado are under severe drought conditions. A drought last year cost the agriculture industry $10,000,000,000 in lost crops.
