Authorities Now Have New Number One Suspect in 1994 Rape and Murder Case

Now that Robert Dewey has been exonerated from the 1994 rape and murder of Palisade woman, Jacie Taylor, authorities have their new number 1 suspect. He’s Douglas Thames Jr.. In 1994 he had rented an apartment right by Taylor and he and his girlfriend socialized with her. The 25 page arrest affidavit that was just released explains that they used the same DNA testing process cleared Dewey’s name. After deliberation an arrest warrant was put out for Thames on 1st Degree murder, felony murder, and 1st degree assault and was signed by District Judge Brian Flynn. In the original investigation Douglas Thames was not even contacted or identified as a suspect or witness in the case. Recent evidence has now focused the attention on him.
