This weekend was the third Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Take Back Day. Police Departments from across the country accepted unused or expired prescription drugs so they could be disposed of safely. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office released that the authorities in Mesa County, including the Grand Junction Police Department, took in 285 pounds of prescriptions. The totals for Montrose and the overall national totals have not yet been released.
