Rep. Coram’s SUCCESS ACT Passes Voice Vote In House

Another small success for State Rep. Don Coram, literally. His sponsored SUCCESS ACT for Small Business, House Bill 1119 passed on a voice vote in the House. The Success ACT which stands for Stopping Unnecessary Costs and Creating Economic Sustainability for Small Business, calls for a temporary freeze on the Dept. of Health and Environment’s ability to impose fines on businesses for minor violations. Coram’s measure will temporarily prohibit the Dept. from issuing minor, inspection-related violations and paperwork violations unless the business fails to correct those problems within a reasonable timetable. Up next for the Success Act bill it needs to pass a recorded vote in the House before it can be considered in the Senate.
