Over the years Volunteers of America has managed Meals on Wheels and provided meals for many communities on the western slope.  VOA also assists in helping the elderly by supporting them with housing, health care and nutritional programs.  Now they’re looking for help from the community.  Tomorrow VOA will hold its annual Run For the Roses fundraiser as they celebrate the Kentucky Derby and raise funds for their organization.  VOA director Eva Veitch has said that in the past the event raised about $7 thousand for nutritious meals and is hoping to increase that this year.    The event is planned for tomorrow at the Montrose Elks Club from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.
