Wells Fargo Robbery 002

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that happened in Carbondale. On Saturday police were called about a robbery in progress at the Wells Fargo branch. Just before closing time at the bank a man possibly wearing a wig and fake mustache threatened the five employees and one customer with a handgun. The man forced the six onto their knees where he tied their hands behind the bank counter. The suspect then left the bank in a stolen employee’s car, which has already been recovered. Police were notified of the robbery after an employee broke free and told a family member waiting outside to call police. The FBI is assisting the Carbondale and Glenwood Springs Police Departments in the investigation.
