Montrose City Council Discusses MEDC/Ross Reels Proposal

The Montrose City Council held a special meeting last night over the issue with Ross Reels and their parent company 3M. The Company is planning to move their operations and the Montrose Economic Development Corporation is trying to help them out to prevent them moving out of state. The City Council proposed that they would not provide any money directly to the company, but agreed to a joint advertising campaign between the city and Ross Reels. Councilwoman Carol McDermott explains.

The proposal was made by City Manager Bill Bell who was out sick for the meeting. A decision on the proposal was tabled until next week’s city council meeting.
