In Mesa County this week Authorities pulled over a California driver just inside of the state lines because the driver had obscured vision due to chips in the windshield and a gps device. The woman, 21 year old Dayana Gutierrez gave the deputy conflicting stories about where she was and consented to a search. The deputy noticed oil dripping from the oil pan, where drugs are commonly smuggled. The deputy then had Gutierrez follow him to a shop where she gave consent to have a mechanic search the vehicle. When they got the oil pan off, there was nearly nine pounds of methamphetamine stored. Gutierrez was booked for Possession, Intent to Distribute and other charges.
