It looks as though rural post offices that are still open have gotten a reprieve, at least for now. The Postal Service has decided to hold off on any future rural post office closing thanks to a huge outcry from the public. One office that was threatened to be closed was the White Water branch. Many in those community are relieved to hear that it will remain open. Those facilities that are open will remain so but with reduced hours. Under the Postal Service’s new plan, those that have closed will remain closed and the others will stay open but will cut back their hours. These cuts are expected to save about $500 million annually.
