Two Colorado State Patrol troopers were involved in similar accidents this weekend, but the accidents were in different parts of the state. On Sunday a trooper responding to an accident was struck by an SUV in an intersection on the I-70 Business Loop in Grand Junction. Another trooper was taken to the hospital in Denver with serious injuries on Monday. The trooper was writing a ticket for another motorist on the side of the road in Englewood and both the trooper and driver were outside the car. The two were struck by an SUV and sustained serious injuries. The driver of the SUV fled the scene but soon after was arrested for vehicular assault and D-U-I.
