The Sunrise Mine Fire is still growing, but not on the scale that is was before. The fire has grown to more than 6,000 acres and fire crews have nearly 50% contained. Today’s warm and dry weather is not enough for a fire weather warning but firefighters on the ground believe the fire may spread today. The fire has cost more than $1,200,000 to fight and there have been two injuries. It is threatening 10 houses and 15 other buildings at the moment and fire crews hope to have it fully contained by the weekend.
