Firefighters made significant progress in fighting the Sunrise Mine Fire. The 6,130 acre fire is now 70% contained. Firefighters were nervous about the conditions yesterday, but a mid day shift in the wind only brought a minor increase in acreage. There are 621 firefighters working to fully contain the fire by the weekend. So far, it has cost $1,948,879 to fight.
