Shooting in Grand Junction

There was a shooting yesterday at the Affordable Inns in Grand Junction. The Grand Junction Police Department is looking for two men who fled the area after another man was shot in the chest. Police have not released the victim’s name due to the ongoing investigation. The man was shot in an upstairs hotel room and two men were seen leaving quickly in a grey or silver dodge four door diesel pickup. The first man is white, about 6 feet tall with a thin build and a full beard. The other man is of Hawaiian or Samoan descent, between 5’2″ and 5’4″ with a large gap in his front teeth. The Grand Junction Police Department is looking for these two men to get more information about what happened. If you know of their whereabouts, call the Mesa County Crimestoppers at 241 STOP.

The following is the release with full descriptions of the men, from the Grand Junction PD:

The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man hospitalized at about 11:00 this morning. The shooting took place in an upstairs room at the Affordable Inns on Horizon Drive. The victim was shot in the stomach. His name is not being released at this point because of the ongoing investigation.

Immediately after the shooting, two men were seen getting into a silver or grey, Dodge, 4-door, diesel pickup truck. The two left quickly, heading north on Horizon Dr. The descriptions of the two men are as follows:

Person #1
- Approximately 25 years old
- Hawaiian or Samoan
- Large gap in front, upper teeth
- Wearing a baseball cap, baggy jeans, long-sleeve grey shirt
- Approximately 5’2” – 5’4” tall
- 130 pounds with a thin build

Person #2
- Approximately 30 years old
- White male
- Approximately 6’0” tall
- 170 pounds
- Brown hair
- Full, long beard

Because we believe these two men may have information that can help us with the investigation, we would like to talk with them.
