District 51 in Grand Junction is once again battling this year’s budget.  The school budget proposed will trim off $6 million and remove 45 positions within the district.  Other budget cutting measures proposed include raising athletic fees for students and increase the acceptable walking distance to school.  Residents will have an opportunity to voice their opinion during the final budget hearing which will be held on June 19^th.
