Earlier this morning a woman’s body was found in a canal near Fruita.  Authorities were called out to the scene and as of right now there appears to be no foul play involved.  Mesa County Sheriff’s office will wait for the coroner’s report before deciding whether this was a homicide or not.  The coroner has determined the cause and manner of death but will not announce the results until next of kin have been notified.  The victim is a woman who is about 65 years old, 5 feet tall and weighs about 115 lbs.  As with all deaths Mesa County authorities are investigating this as a suspicious death for now.
