Colorado Junior Senator Michael Bennet was on the floor of the US Senate yesterday encouraging votes on the 2012 Farm Bill. In his speech, Senator Bennet mentioned the Western Slope. [See the speech below] The Farm Bill carries several amendments proposed by Senator Bennet, one of which pushes regional water conservation and another which will help rural farmers get low interest loans to make energy efficiency retrofits. The 2012 Farm Bill will also reform policy and streamline programs to reduce the federal deficit by $23 billion.
