Cooler Weather Aids Firefighters

Somewhat cooler weather is giving crews battling wildfires statewide a bit of a break, although more hot weather is likely to return by the weekend.  Right now firefighters are battling a blaze near Lake George  that broke out Tuesday and spread about 3 square miles.  This fire, unlike the High Park Fire, was started by humans who apparently were doing some target practice with guns.  Several agencies including the Forest Service and the ATF are investigating but have not released any further details.  The Lake George Fire is 23 per cent contained.  The High Park Fire is 55 per cent contained and crews are slowly making progress in that one.  And if that’s not enough crews were called out to another blaze near Craig, a 2 thousand acre fire that was also started by humans when someone allegedly threw out a cigarette from a moving vehicle.
