An explosion at a BP Compression station erupted this morning and killed one person and injured two others.  The explosion happened between Bayfield and Durango near Hwy 160 at about 8:15 this morning.  The highway was closed off temporarily  by Elmore’s Corner but then reopened an hour later.  Several workers were on-site during the incident.  There’s no word yet on what caused the explosion.
