Two people were busted yesterday for possession of at least 5 grams of meth. Carl Avery and Tracy Wright were both booked into the Mesa County Jail. Authorities found the illegal substance inside Wright’s purse while make a routine traffic stop. After that was discovered Carl Avery admitted to distributing the drug as well. Both face possession and distribution charges. Other charges for which they were originally pulled over for include driving after revocation, failure to use a turn signal and operating an uninsured vehicle. Avery has a criminal history as officials discovered that he was convicted back in 1998 on a sex offense charge and now faces a charge of failing to register as a sex offender.
