Two Groups Want Names of Nominators For Oil And Gas Leasing

Two groups are trying to force the federal government to reveal who nominated 30 thousand acres  in the North Fork Valley to be used for oil and gas leasing.  The Daily Sentinel reports the groups, Citizens for a Health Community and Western Environmental Law Center have filed suits demanding the government  reveal that information and they’re also trying to get BLM to reveal those who nominate parcels before the actual leasing is signed.  The North Fork Valley parcels had been scheduled for leasing later this summer but the BLM held up that lease because of widespread concern about drilling in that area.
