Fire poses not only a risk to human and wildlife but to utility companies as well.  In fact, as a result of these unusually arid conditions and the wildfires across the state, DMEA has placed itself in “Fire Prevention Mode”  which means certain restrictions will be implemented on how their automated equipment and line crews respond to inevitable power outages.  By placing themselves in this unique mode it reduces the risk of a fire being started by electrical equipment.  But as a result more customers are likely to experience more frequent short outages.  DMEA is also asking its customers to be vigilant and report any unusual circumstance surrounding power lines or equipment by calling their main line at 1-877-687-3632.
