Earlier today the district attorney’s office in Mesa County has decided not to file charges in the case of a 19 yr old Grand Junction man who was strangled to death by a friend who tried to subdue him when he was high on bath salts.  Attorney Hautsinger held a press conference earlier today explaining his decision and said it was a unique situation which led to the death of Daniel J. Richards.  His death was believed to be the first of its kind associated with bath salts in Western Colorado.  Just last month Colorado made it a crime to possess or sell bath salts in the state.
