Some Counties Adjust Their Fire Restrictions

With Gov. John Hickenlooper dropping the statewide fire restrictions changes in fire restrictions have been altered for local counties too here on the Western Slope. Mesa County Sheriff’s office and the Grand Junction Fire Dept. have reduced their restrictions as well, from stage two down to stage one. That allows the use of charcoal grills and campfires in permanent enclosures but still bans the use of fireworks and open burning. However, stage two restrictions remain for Montrose, Delta, Ouray, Gunnison, and Garfield counties as well as all federal lands on the Western Slope.
