City Council Tables Whitewater Park Decision

The Montrose City Council met last night and a topic on everyone’s mind was the new Whitewater Park in Montrose. Several members of the public went in front of the council to express their support for the park. Ben Tisdall, the chair of Friends of the river Uncompahgre which is an advocacy group for the park explains the benefits of the Whitewater Park.

 The council decided to table a motion that would allow the city to apply for a grant from the state for the park. Councilwoman Judy Ann Files says the concern is over funding.

The motion was moved to the council’s next meeting on august seventh.
