Jul 26th @ 3:24 pm in News by Scott Staley
As of midnight tonight the Forest Service will rescind fire restrictions for the Gunnison National Forest and those portions of the Uncompahgre National Forest outside of Mesa County. The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forest officials have been monitoring precipitation amounts over the past few weeks and from the information they gathered conditions have changed to allow fire restrictions to be removed in some areas. In addition to that the Montrose County Sheriff’s office has announce that fire restrictions in Montrose County will also be lifted. That means no more fire bans in the county but may still be active in other areas. The ban will officially be lifted at 8 tomorrow morning.
