Police have arrested the suspect in a shooting in Naturita on Monday. 47 year old Ronald McGuffee was taken into custody yesterday and is being held on suspicion of first degree assault. According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, McGuffee had shot 35 year old Brandon Pacheco after an argument at his auto shop on Main in Naturita. McGuffee maintains that the shooting was an accident, and a CBI Spokesperson said in a release that Pacheco and another man were fleeing the scene late Monday night when McGuffee shot at the vehicle and a bullet struck Pacheco. He was transported to Saint Mary’s hospital in Grand Junction but his condition is unknown at this time. McGuffee is being held on $60,000 bond and will be appearing in court in Nucla august 7^th.
